His Gentle Leading

Isaiah 40:11

He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

My pastor shared from this passage in Isaiah concerning hope.  This little phrase speaks to me.  Our God knows the voice of his sheep, each individual one.   I am so glad he has gentleness on mothers.  Our God is ours-- personal!

Would you share any verses that help you hold on to hope?  Please leave a comment.

Are you a couponita?

For myself, I'd qualify myself as a C.I.T. (couponita-in-training)! I wandered in the desert of paying full price for a while, believing it was too much time, effort, and energy for little pay-off. With a little incentive--and as many of us are one income families, that's incentive enough-- I have eased into couponing and CVSing.

Amber did a wonderful job giving us the coupon basics and I think even the most savvy shopper picked up a new tip. I, for one, did not know that Kroger would accept a Cellfire manufacturer's Q (coupon) and a paper manufacturer's Q. Cool!

Amber suggested the site moneysavingmom.com as her go-to for all things coupon. Southern Savers and CouponMom.com were also mentioned.

Lastly, one of our own members, Tiffani Taff, writes a blog entitled ThriftyTiff.com. Check it out!

P.S.  The MOPS Consigment Sale begins in less than 2 hours!  Get your shop on tonight from 5-8 and tomorrow from 8-1 at Centerville First Baptist!

Some Things I LOVE...

Well hello everyone! I cannot believe that it has taken me this long to make my first post on this beautiful blog. I would like to say a special thank you to Melissa for all her great posts… she truly has the gift of written expression.

So I figured, for those of you who do not know me that well I will let you into my crazy brain for a minute and tell you about some things I love…

I LOVE chocolate! Any kind, I do not discriminate!
I LOVE Christmas
I LOVE surprises, but only good ones.
I LOVE scones (not the biscuit things, the fried dough) and Fry Sauce… but not together!
I LOVE to cook painfully hard recipes
I LOVE blog-surfing
I LOVE to create

While I was up one night, entirely too late, I came across a great tutorial on how to make a tiered tray using plates. I though hum… that looks really neat, I think I will try that. Well, it has been like 4 months and nothing. So I have decided that it will be our first project… for after the consignment sale. Ok, so I have a problem with procrastinating too. But I promise that after the consignment sale I will have a great little tutorial on how to turn these great plates I found at Target

Into a cute tiered tray like these

I hope that everyone has a great weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday, the 15th at our craft meeting where we will be making Key Fobs.
