November 6, 2013 Meeting

We had a nice relaxing time at our first November meeting. We met in our usual spot and at our usual time on Wednesday, November 6. We had a great turn out with lots of delicious snacks. Kristen Kennedy, our service leader, shared a "my mess" story this week. We played fruit basket turn over by swapping up our tables. We swapped the tables based on birthdays. The purpose of this meeting was to get to know moms that you usually don't sit with. It was a neat change and we learned things that we didn't know about our fellow moms. We had no birthdays, birth announcements, or pregnancy announcements at this meeting. We also did a fun craft. Juanita planned out a craft with stone coasters. Some of us stenciled and painted while others used mod podge and scrapbook paper. Either way, we were able to make something beautiful and practical for our homes. As previously stated, this meeting was all about getting to know others and was very relaxing! I think we all enjoyed the down time at this meeting. Hope to see you all on the 20th. And don't forget to bring a box of Christmas cards for our service project!

MNO November

We had a fabulous time at our November MNO! We hosted a TBTA party for a super fun group of ladies. Lindsey Hopkins, fellow MOPS member and artist for TBTA taught us how to paint something beautiful with God's truth on it! Many of us are very inexperienced painters but as you can see from the photos we all created something beautiful. We had the choice of a fall or Christmas design plus two different monogram designs. We had tons of yummy snacks to devour while we painted. We had a great turn out. I believe there were 23 moms who participated. It truly was a great time and we are looking forward to hopefully having another painting party in the spring.

Trunk-or-Treat

Our annual Trunk-or-Treat was a huge success! We've got some seriously creative moms! Here's a peak at the awesome table decorations that our very own MOPS members put together.

As you can see, the decision for a winner was quite a tough one! Tables were judged by our Steering Team members (none of which could vote for their own table) and the winner was the Candyland Table! Congrats Suzanne Foster (Table Leader), Laura McDonald, Laura Glass, Melissa Davis, & Lindsey Clark!

Besides loading up on candy, the kids got to play lots of fun games from beanbag tosses to bowling. They all had a great time! Of course nothing can top the preciousness of all the kids in costumes. We had super heros, princesses, various animals, as well as cute little characters. It was impossible to get all of them in a picture, but we did our best. Here's our adorable babies (12 months and younger)

And the baby winner (again chosen by our Steering Team, none of which could vote on their own children) was baby Bryn (the popcorn baby), daughter of Brae Johnson.
Here are our boys (or at least the ones that would cooperate for a picture). And the winner was Tyler Glass (cowboy on the far left), son of Laura Glass.
And finally our precious little girls. And the winner was Amarise Pena (little ladybug on the far left), daughter of Amanda Pena. The judging was ridiculously difficult! Thanks to everyone that came out and a big thanks to all of our moms who helped decorate tables!
