December 4, 2013 meeting

I would love to start this blog post with some super fun pictures of our last meeting but that's just not going to happen this time. I have spent the better part of a week trying to upload pictures and apparently its just not meant to be this time. Computer/phone problems can really make one go nuts!
Sigh.....

We started our meeting with a yummy breakfast spread and a great guest speaker, our mentor mom, Leslie Giddens. She spoke to us about family Christmas traditions and how to enjoy the holidays and family time even though things don't always go as planned. I'm sure that many of us moms needed to hear that, especially with Christmas fast approaching. Sadly, the holidays tend to bring family dr. ama to a head at times!

Juanita Larson came up with a fun ornament craft for this meeting. We each made 2 glass ornaments. One was a super cute snowman and the other was kind of "freestyle". We got to embellish with glitter, stencils, paint, ribbon, etc. For me, this was one of my favorite crafts this year and my ornaments are proudly adorning my tree.

Again, I apologize for the lack of photos but in an effort to salvage what little sanity I have left I just couldn't bring myself to try uploading them anymore.

Hope to see everyone at our next meeting, Dec 18. It should be great fun. Don't forget to wear your tackiest Christmas sweater and bring 4 dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies/candies/treats to share with everyone and a container for collecting treats to take home.

November 20, 2013 meeting

First off I want to apologize for posting this blog so late....the holiday craziness has certainly hit me!

Our second meeting for November (20th) was pretty laid back! Brother Jerry and his wife, Mrs. Debbie spoke on "extended families".  Also, we worked on TWO service projects. We made 16 "MOM bags" with many mom goodies. We appreciate all the donations for the bags. They turned out great! Also, a lot of you ladies donated many signed Christmas cards that will go to deployed military members. Thank y'all so much!!!

Looking forward to seeing all you ladies December 4th!! We have a awesome Christmas craft planned!

 

 Also, just a friendly reminder that little ones are asked not to be dropped off before 9:15. Our meetings start promptly at 9:30, so don't be late, would hate for you to miss out on the "on time drawing"!
